Developing a motif

Now I made this orange pendant or dangle a few days ago just to get the pattern sorted - again using the metal findings from Irma.

This is basically where my journey to the TIAS 2012 started in fact.  I looked at this design for ages and decided that with some 'modifications' it could form the basis for the 'you don't know what' - yet!!!  Now known as TIAS 2012!!!

Having then made the thingamajig I then looked at that and the idea below the orange motif evolved.  I've still got further plans for this as I can 'just' see a repeating motif here too - with a bit of playing with first, of course!

Perhaps you now understand now what a devious brain I've got!!!!

I can see our "thing"in the bottom motif - but we only have TWO beads, which I am hoping means an animal, since I never tatted Norman and have regretted that ever since!
You are a truly innovative designer, Jane, with your ideas feeding off each other almost sooner than you can get them down on paper.
Many creative people share that trait, I remember particularly one of my musician daughter's friends when she was studying at the Conservatorium - he seemed never to sleep as he was always having to write down his new compositions!

Amazing. But I do wonder if you're trying to lead us astray in our guesses about the TIAS??

Wow, looks really complicated, this new motif that evolved. I'll stick to TIAS 2012. :)

Love how brain cell 3 works! This would make lovely earrings and matching pendant.

Square motifs always look good to me, you are having fun with those findings. Also love the colours on the top one. Do you ever sleep?

Sally just asked the question for me! And, again, because you're my age (exactly), I am constantly in awe of your energy level. Please tell me someone else does the cooking at least!!!

Love the orange pendant and the 'solid' filled in section, without having to do clunies or block tatting! Wonderful colors!

Ah, you've caught me out Kathy. Yes someone else does the cooking. When I moved in with Nick nearly 20 years ago he told me women couldn't cook!! Cheeky man. I agreed with him (easier to do that than argue) and have let him get on with it since. He loves doing it and he's a smashing cook - ask Sally about his fish cakes!!!

Those both look really great! :)

I'm testing the new Reply button so I can tell you how relieved (and envious) I am to know that you have a personal cook, so to speak! (Cooking is definitely not my favorite thing!) He is allowing you to have valuable research and tatting time, resulting in your advancing the art of tatting to amazing levels, and we all benefit greatly from it! Thank you, Nick!!
